#5 EARLY MORNING BIRD WALK, MILLER CREEK
6.00 a.m. - 8.00 a.m. - NOW FULL
Enjoy an early morning bird walk. Both novice and expert birders are welcome. A great opportunity to hear and see interesting local birds. Please bring your binoculars!

#6 ECOLOGY PARK TOUR
2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Ecology Park is Peterborough Green-Up's centre for landscape and outdoor education. Its 5 scenic acres presents a showcase of ecological land use. Stroll through a butterfly garden, a xeriscape (low water) garden, rain barrel water collection system, organic food and herb gardens, wildlife gardens and a children’s garden. A compost education centre illustrates simple steps in producing perfect ‘black gold’. See the nursery’s large variety of native and non-native plants. Explore nature trails, naturalization projects, woodland plantings, tallgrass prairie, and shoreline rehabilitation.

#7 PETERBOROUGH CITY HISTORICAL WALK
2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Trip leader: Chris Greene
A two-hour walk through central Peterborough to see sites and buildings of historic, heritage, or scenic interest, including the court house, churches, heritage neighbourhoods, and parks.
Meet at: Peter Gzowski College registration area. Carpool and walk.

#8 EVENING AMPHIBIAN WALK
9:45 p.m. - 11:15 p.m. (following the banquet) NOW FULL
Trip leader: Tina Fridgen
View some or all of the following species: American toads, leopard frogs, green frogs, spring peepers, chorus frogs, and grey tree frogs, during the breeding choruses in both a pond and a temporary swamp. Listen to amphibian vocalizations and learn to identify the calls of each species. We may witness mating behaviour if we’re lucky. Bring flashlight, rubber boots, or hip waders if possible.
