#1 TRENT WALK - VIEWS OVER THE OTONABEE
3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Trip leader: Roger Jones
Lady Eaton Drumlin, along the Otonabee River to the Promise Rock Nature Area. Visit a grove of 100-year-old hemlock, white cedar, white pine and white spruce near the Otonabee River, on University lands. A 3 km walk along an abandoned railroad on the east side of the river, through the trees and back along the west bank of the river.
Meet at: Peter Gzowski College registration area.
Degree of difficulty: Moderate (possible poison ivy, mosquito repellent suggested). Family friendly.
#2 EVENING AMPHIBIAN WALK
8:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. NOW FULL
Trip leader: Tina Fridgen
View some or all of the following species: American toads, leopard frogs, green frogs, spring peepers, chorus frogs, and grey tree frogs, during the breeding choruses in both a pond and a temporary swamp. Listen to amphibian vocalizations and learn to identify the calls of each species.
We may witness mating behaviour if we’re lucky. Bring flashlight, rubber boots, or hip waders if possible.
Meet at: Peter Gzowski College registration area. Carpool and walk.

#3 ASTRONOMY WALK - ARMOUR HILL
9:00 p.m. - 10.30 p.m.
Trip leader: John Crossen
We will set up telescopes on Armour Hill for a look at the night sky. Bring your binoculars too. In case of clouds, an exciting indoor astronomy demonstration will be presented by John with his portable planetarium.
Meet at: Peter Gzowski College registration area. Carpool and walk.
Degree of difficulty: Easy. Family friendly.
